NASCAR One & Done Pick for WWT Raceway

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR season has completed 14 races and that means most people have used many of their top drivers in the One & Done game. It is going to get tougher to find quality drivers as the Cup Series races through the summer months and in the playoffs. Hopefully, we can hit on the top driver and find some good value picks on the road course races, the Superspeedways and at Pocono.

COREY LAJOIE will fill in for Chase Elliott this week. LaJoie did not look good in practice, and he hit the wall in qualifying. He should be a good pick if he just calms does and stops trying to overdrive the car. I think LaJoie will be fine, and he should be a decent pick if you want to save Ryan Blaney for another track.

ONE & DONE CONTESTS

This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.

KYLE BUSCH will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once. Busch led the most laps (66) and finished second in this race last year. That was in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Now we get to see what Rowdy can do in a Richard Childress Racing Chevy. Busch is no stranger to Victory Lane at WWT Raceway. He won an Xfinity Series race at the track in 2009. His Busch starts on the pole and has the No. 1 pit stall (that is huge this week). Busch dominated this race last year and he has a great chance to do it again Sunday.

ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)

This pick is for games where you are allowed to use a driver once in the regular season (the first 26 races) and then you can use them again in the playoffs, if your team advances in the playoffs. We only need 26 drivers in these games so we can be a bit more aggressive with our picks. Here are my picks for games that reset at the end of the regular season…

RYAN BLANEY will be my pick in games where you can only use a driver once in the regular season. Blaney finished fourth in this race last year and he finished second earlier this season on the flat track in Phoenix. The No. 12 car posted the fifth-fastest speed in his group in practice but they found speed in qualifying.  Blaney starts second and he should lead some laps, score a lot of Stage Points and have the upside to win Sunday.

ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)

I play in a game where I can use a driver three times throughout the season. I know some of you have told me you can use your drivers twice. We will only need 18 drivers in these games, so we do not need to dig too deep with our picks. Here is my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once….

KYLE BUSCH will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once. I usually like the spread the wealth and use multiple drivers in my three lineups, but WWT Raceway is a good track for Busch, his car has speed this week and he dominated the race last year. I will play it safe and use Rowdy in St. Louis.

Good luck Sunday!
