Short track racing will be back this week as the MENCS travels to Bristol, Tennessee for the Food City 500. There are two types of drivers in NASCAR. Those who love Bristol and those who hate it. It is a tough track to get around if you do not know what you are doing. This is the week to use the drivers who have had a lot of success on the high-speed, high-banked, short track. The Food City 500 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. I was happy with our One & Done pick last week. Getting a top-five finish from Jimmie Johnson seems like a win for me and to get it on a 1.5-mile track makes it even better. Our average finishing position is now 10.5. Not too bad but we need to get inside the top 10 with our average finishing position. Hopefully we have some good luck at Bristol.
Here are my picks for Bristol…

My One & Done pick this week will Matt DiBenedetto. We have to use him in some race this season and Bristol is his best track. DiBenedetto qualified 21st, had the 6th fastest speed in final practice with the 6th fastest 20-lap speed and the 5th fastest 30-lap speed. He has the same setup in his car as Denny Hamlin. It may not get better than this for DiBenedetto this season so I will take a chance with him.
Good luck this week!
