NASCAR One & Done Picks for Bristol

Facebooktwitter

Now that NASCAR has given us our fill of 1.5-mile track racing, it is time to turn up the action about 10 notches on the excitement dial. It is time to go short track racing in Thunder Valley. This is one of my favorite tracks and it is hard to believe the Coliseum will not be packed with fans, but at least we have some racing. The Supermarket Heroes 500 can be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

Last Race: The race Thursday night at Charlotte was a disaster. Alex Bowman dominated most of the race but he was running in 2nd place when he smacked the wall and crushed the right-side of his car. Bowman finished 31st and dropped my season average to 13.75. I need a good race at Bristol to get the average finishing position for my picks back inside the top 10.

Here are my picks for the Supermarket Heroes 500

My One & Done Pick for Bristol: Matt DiBenedetto

This is a great race to use Matt DiBenedetto. He had a good chance to win the last race at Bristol. DiBenedetto led 93 laps and finished 2nd. That was in a Leavine Family Racing car. You would think he would think he could have better results with the Wood Brother’s Ford. DiBenedetto starts 9th. I expect him to finish in the top 10 Sunday.

Kurt Busch has been to Victory Lane 6 times at Bristol. He will have a good chance to win again Sunday. The No. 1 car has been fast all season. Busch has a 6th-place average finishing position in his last 6 races this season. He should finish in the top 5 at one of his best tracks.

Good luck this week!
