The last race of the first round of the MENCS Playoffs is already here and wow is it going to be wild. Last year 10 cars followed Brad Keselowski off a cliff at this track and Jimmie Johnson decided to spin out Martin Truex Jr. and himself on the last lap instead of taking the points to advance in the playoffs. What could go wrong this week? The Bank of America Roval 400 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.
My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. Last week I used my inside information about Bubba Wallace receiving more funding for his car for my pick and it worked out great. Bubba finished 12th. Our season average is now 12.5. That is not bad. I expect another good finish this week.
Here are my picks for Charlotte…

Wow, it is getting slim pickings for the One & Done game with 9 races left in the season. The drivers I have available to me include: Martin Truex Jr., Ricky Stenhouse Jr., David Ragan, Corey Lajoie, Landon Cassill, Ross Chastain and Matt Tifft. I would really love to see Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell or Cole Custer makes some starts in the Cup Series before the season ends.
I thought about picking Martin Truex Jr. for this race because he has been so dominant on the road course but the Charlotte Roval has become as unpredictable as Daytona or Talladega. I think it is a better strategy to take a chance with another driver and save Truex for a more predictable track. My pick Sunday will be David Ragan. He is not the best road course driver but he is good at staying out of trouble. Ragan started 30th and finished 16th in the Roval race last year. I think he could do the same this week.
Good luck this week!
