It is throwback week for the NASCAR. The car will be wrapped in their throwback schemes to pay tribute to the drivers who paved the way for today’s stars. This is one of my favorite races of the season and it is one of the crown jewels on the NASCAR schedule. The Southern 500 can be seen Sunday evening (Sep. 1st) at 6 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. Last week I used my start with Ryan Newman. I knew he would be points racing and just like any typical points race for Newman, he finished 11th. My average finishing position for the One & Done picks is now 12.8. Well ahead of my goal for the season.
Here are my picks for Darlington…

My One & Done pick this week will be Chris Buescher. I have been saving Buescher for the Southern 500. Darlington ranks as his best track. He has a 15th place average finishing position at the Track Too Tough to Tame and he has run well on the large oval tracks this season. I expect the No. 37 car to finish near the top 10 again this week. Buescher will start 12th Sunday evening.
Good luck this week!
