Fantasy NASCAR season is finally here. One of the more popular games is the One & Done contests. This is simply selecting one driver for each race and then you cannot use that driver for the rest of the season (I also post picks for games where you can use a driver more than once. These picks are in the Pick a Driver Twice column). NASCAR Pools Online has become a popular site for the One & Done. They should have some contests available if you want to try it out in 2020.
My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. The average last year was 14.8 so I met my goal. I will try to do the same for the third straight season.
Here are my picks for Daytona …

I mapped out my drivers for their best tracks. There are 28 drivers who will be good picks this season and 36 races on the schedule. That means we need to find some drivers who are not running the complete schedule for the four Superspeedways races. That will leave us with only four races to fill in with some lower funded teams.
David Ragan retired last year but he will be running the Daytona 500. This is his only scheduled race in 2020 so we better use him while we have a chance. Ragan will be driving the No. 36 car for Rick Ware Racing. The cars will be supplied from Front Row Motorsports so it should have some speed. I do not expect much from Ragan this week but he did finish 6th t Daytona in 2017. I am hoping he can simply avoid the wrecks and find his way to the front at the end of the race.
Pick a Driver Twice is for leagues where you are allowed to use a driver more than once. We do not have to dig as deep to find drivers in these types of contests so the picks will be different. I will use the pole sitter, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the leagues with multiple-allocations for a driver.
Good luck this week!
