The 2018 MENCS season kicks off with the 60th running of the Daytona 500. Once again I will be providing my picks for the One & Done game. I know some people play games which allow you to pick a driver twice throughout the season. For this reason I will also be providing picks for that format as well.
Last year was my first season providing picks for the One & Done and I learned a lot about saving drivers. My picks were pretty thin by the end of the season and it could be worse this year. There are only 35 drivers running the full 36 race schedule (that include Jeffrey Earnhardt and Coery LaJoie). That means you must play the decent drivers when they show up at the track to run a race.
Here are my picks for the Daytona 500…
Can Pick Driver Once
|Can Pick Driver Twice
Danica Patrick will only compete in one race this season. It is going to be very hard to find 36 good drivers for the 36 races, so when an opportunity to pick a “decent” driver presents itself, you must take it. Patrick has been hit or miss at Daytona. Her best finish is 8th and she has a few accedidents as well. She is not driving for points so I would expect her strategy will be to hang out in the back to avoid the accidents. Hopefully this plan works out and she is up front at the end of the race.
Good luck this week!
