NASCAR One & Done Picks for Dover

Facebooktwitter

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will travel to Dover International Speedway this week for some of the fastest racing of the season. The practice and qualifying laps were blazing fast this weekend so if you like fast cars, this is the race for you. The Gander RV 400 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.

My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. Ty Dillon came close to hitting the jackpot for us at Talladega. He won Stage 1 but he got shuffled out of line on the last lap. Dillon finished 17th. Our average finishing position for the season is now 11.1. We must have a driver who finishes in the top 10 Sunday.

Here are my picks for Dover…

Chase Elliott ? Dover Chase Elliott

?

My One & Done pick this week will Chase Elliott. The No. 9 team will have some momentum after their win at Talladega and they should have some confidence since they won the last race at Dover. This is the best track for Elliott. He has finished 5 of his 6 races at the Monster Mile in the top 5 (4.3 average finishing position.  Elliott won the pole, was 10th fastest in final practice and the No. 9 car had the 7th fastest 10-lap average speed. I will roll the dice with Elliott at one of his best tracks.

Good luck this week!
