NASCAR One & Done Picks for Dover

Facebooktwitter

The second round of the MENCS playoffs will take the green flag this week at Dover International Speedway. There are only seven races left in the season and it is becoming very difficult to find good drivers for our One & Done picks. You need a lot of luck this time of year. I have my fingers crossed, a rabbit’s foot in my pocket and a rainbow over my house when I made the picks this week. Hopefully that brings us the luck we need. The Drydene 400 can be seen Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. I really thought we were going to get lucky last week with David Ragan. He was running 19th with 10 laps to go. After the race I checked the results and saw Ragan finished 35th. I am not sure what happened, but that just sucks. We need a bounce back performance from our driver at Dover.

Here are my picks for Dover…

Wow, it is getting slim pickings for the One & Done game with 7 races left in the season. The drivers I have available to me include: Martin Truex Jr., Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Corey Lajoie, Landon Cassill, Ross Chastain and Matt Tifft. I would really love to see Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell or Cole Custer makes some starts in the Cup Series before the season ends.

I am going to use my start with Martin Truex Jr. this week. The Monster Mile is the best track left on the schedule for Truex. He won the last race at the track and he has a lot of momentum after he had a 3rd-place average finishing position in the first round of the playoffs. Truex is the favorite to win Sunday and he should easily finish in the top 5.

Good luck this week!
