NASCAR One & Done Picks for Dover

The NASCAR Cup Series will compete at Dover International Speedway this week and the good news is that this race should be more predictable than what we had at the Bristol Dirt Race and last week at Talladega. We need some better luck because the last two weeks have been ugly. Bubba Wallace Jr. spent 95% of the race last week in the top-five but got shuffled out of the draft and into the wall in the final laps. I still think he was the right play for Talladega, but sometimes we just need some better luck at these tracks.

I am all in on Hendrick Motorsports this week. They finished No. 1 (Alex Bowman), No. 2 (Kyle Larson), No. 3 (Chase Elliott) and No. 4 (William Byron) at Dover last year. HMS seems to have more speed now throughout their four cars (last year Kyle Larson was a lot better than his teammates entering the race at Dover) then they were last year. It would be a good idea to play one of the HMS cars this week.

If you want to throw a dart and hope it hits the bullseye, the driver I like is Ryan Preece. He is driving the No. 15 car for Rick Ware Racing. This car has “support” from Stewart-Haas Racing. It was not setup by SHR, but the team has all of the notes from SHR. Preece finished 18th at Dover last year for JTG Daugherty Racing. He should be able to have a similar race Sunday.

Here is my One & Done pick for the DuraMAX Drydene 400

ONE & DONE PICK FOR DOVER: DANIEL SUAREZ will be my pick in the One & Done game this week. Trackhouse Racing has been on fire. Ross Chastain has been winning races but Suarez has been running up front two. He led 64 laps on the short track at Bristol. I know that dirt race is not comparable to Dover, but it shows he can lead laps in the No. 99 car. Suarez finished 9th at the Monster Mile last year. His Trackhouse Racing team has a lot more speed now than they did in 2021. I will roll the dice with My Amigo Sunday.

ONE & DONE PICK FOR DOVER: KYLE LARSON will be my pick where you can use a driver more than once and in games that reset at the end of the regular season. You need to make dam sure you are going to get a win from Larson when you use him in the One & Done game. Everything is lining up for Larson to win Sunday. Dover is his best track. His average finishing position at the Monster Mile since 2018 is 2nd. He led 263 laps and won both Stages last year. The No. 5 car was the fastest in practice on the long runs and Larson starts third. I feel confident about using Larson this week.

Good Luck This Week!
