The Cup Series will travel to the Indianapolis Sunday to compete on the road course at the Brickyard. This will be the fourth race on a road course for the Cup Series and the Gen-7 car. We have plenty of data to use to find a good pick for our One & Done pick. We are going to need it after the disaster last week.
The One & Done pick (Denny Hamlin) won the race for about 2 ½ hours. Then NASCAR inspected the No. 11 car and took away his win because they found a foreign substance and the fascia of the car. My One & Done leagues changed Hamlin’s finish from 1st to 35th. That absolutely sucks to have a pick win the race and nothing to show for it. Hopefully we have better luck this week.
Here is my One & Done pick for the race at the Brickyard…
ONE & DONE PICK FOR INDIANAPOLIS: TY GIBBS will be my pick in the One & Done games where you can use a driver once throughout the season. I didn’t use Gibbs in the One & Done game last week because he had never even sat in the Gen-7 car before. That was probably a mistake because Gibbs brought the No. 45 car home in 16th place. Kurt Busch has been ruled out of Sunday’s race so Gibbs will once again be in the seat of the No. 45 car. This week he will have some time to practice and he will not have to start dead last. Gibbs has a lot of talent. I just need him to finish inside the top-15 Sunday. I think he can do it.
* Austin Cindric is my top pick for One & Done games but I already used the No. 2 car at COTA. AJ Allmendinger is another good choice if you do not trust Ty Gibbs.
ONE & DONE PICK FOR INDIANAPOLIS: AUSTIN CINDRIC will be my pick in the One & Done games where you can use a driver more than once during the season. Cindric has been one of the most consistent drivers on the road courses this year and he looks fast again this weekend. Cindric finished 8th at COTA, 5th at Sonoma and 7th at Road America. He posted the fastest speed in practice and qualified second for the race. Roger Penske owns Indianapolis Motor Speedway so it is no surprise the Team Penske cars have speed this week.
Good Luck Sunday!
