NASCAR One & Done Picks for Kansas

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will travel to the Heartland to compete at Kansas Speedway. This will be the fourth race on a 1.5-mile track but Las Vegas is the only track where the stats can be used for the race this week. Kansas is a high-speed intermediate track and the racing surface is wearing out quickly in the harsh Midwest winters. It should be a good race. The Buschy McBusch Race 400 can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FS1.

Corey LaJoie was my pick for Talladega. He was running 17th with one lap to go but he had to check up when Erik Jones spun out. LaJoie finished 22nd. That is not too bad, but we should have used Kaz Grala. He finished 6th, but hindsight is 20-20.

My One & Done Pick for Kansas: William Byron

William Byron is starting to make race fans remember what it was like to see the No. 24 car running up front every week when Jeff Gordon was behind the wheel. Byron is scorching hot right now so I want to use him in the One & Done game before he cools off. Byron has finished 2nd, 7th, 4th, 6th, 8th, 8th and 1st since the series left Daytona. No driver in the Cup Series has been better. Byron finished 5th, 10th and 8th in his last three races at Kansas. He should have a good chance to win Sunday.

Good luck this week!
