NASCAR One & Done Picks for Kentucky

Facebooktwitter

There is nothing better in NASCAR than Saturday night racing…IMO. It just seems the action picks up when the lights go down. Mother Nature ruined the night race at Daytona so we will try it again this week. Kentucky Speedway is one of the fastest 1.5-mile tracks since it was repaved and reconfigured. The 2019 aero package has produced some tight racing this season on the intermediate tracks. I expect another exciting race under the lights. The Quaker State 400 can be seen Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Net.

My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. I really wish I would have use Justin Haley last week but no one imagined him winning at Daytona. My pick was Brendan Gaughan. Like always, he finished in the top 20. The 19th place finish for Gaughan has my season average at 12.3. The rest of the races this summer should be easier to predict.

Here are my picks for Kentucky…

William Byron ? Kentucky Daniel Suarez

?

My One & Done pick this week will be William Byron. I sure wish I had my start with Daniel Suarez back. The No. 41 car looked really fast Friday. Byron liked his car and he has been showing some improvement on the 1.5-mile tracks this summer. Byron has a Truck Series win at this track so he has had success in the past. The No. 24 car has the speed to finish in the top 10 so I will use Byron as my One & Done pick Saturday night.

Good luck this week!
