NASCAR One & Done Picks for Martinsville

The MENCS will compete in their first short track race of the season. Martinsville Speedway always produces some of the most exciting racing of the season. Drivers most save their brakes, get on and off the gas at the right time and be willing to move another car to make a pass. There will likely be some upset drivers following the race this week. The STP 500 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.

My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. Our average finishing position for the season is 12.4 which is not great. The races should be more predictable now that the MENCS has used the new aero package at all types of tracks. We need to get on a hot streak fast to get our average finishing position inside the top 10.

My One & Done pick this week will Clint Bowyer. The No. 14 team was really happy with their car in practice. Bowyer was 2nd fastest on the 10-lap average speed chart and he liked the balance of the car. Bowyer won this race last year and I would not be surprised if he added another Grandfather Clock to his collection Sunday.

Good luck this week!
