NASCAR One & Done Picks for Martinsville

Facebooktwitter

The Fantasy NASCAR season is quickly coming to an end and that means we have to turn over rocks and look under the couch for good drivers to use in out One & Done contests. Do not panic… the rest of your league is likely in the same position as you. This is race 35th of the season and there are not 35 good drivers in the Cup Series. We needed more “ringers” this season and we did not get them. I still have a driver that I think can score well Sunday.

Last Race: It took a while but NASCAR finally got the race in at Texas. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. did not have a great race but he was able to finish 12th. That is not bad for the No. 47 team. Hopefully the good luck continues at Martinsville.

My One & Done Pick for Martinsville: Ryan Preece

Ryan Preece will be my driver for the One & Done game Sunday. Preece is from the Northeast and he grew up racing on the short tracks in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series. He won some race at Martinsville in that series. I know that does not translate into success at the Cup Series level, but it should give him some confidence Sunday. Preece finished 26th at Martinsville in June. He also finished 18th at Phoenix and 16th at New Hampshire, so Preece has had some decent results on the short flat tracks. He is the best option I have left.

Ryan Newman will be my pick in games where you can use a driver twice. Newman is known as one of the best drivers on the short, flat tracks. It is difficult to make passes on those tracks and Newman is one of the toughest drivers to pass in the race. He had another good race at Martinsville in June. Newman started 16th and finished 12th. I am hoping he can finish in the top 15 again Sunday.

Other good sleeper picks: Jimmie Johnson, Clint Bowyer, Michael McDowell, Corey LaJoie and Ty Dillon (Listed in the order of preference)

Good luck this week!
