NASCAR One & Done Picks for Phoenix

Facebooktwitter

The One & Done picks got off to a hot start with two straight top-10 finishes and then they cooled off a bit last week. Joey Logano had an 8th place finishing position in his last 14 races at Las Vegas. Of course he goes out and has his worst race at the track since 2012 when I pick him for the One & Done game. The average finishing position for the One & Done picks is 10th. Not too bad, but we need a top-five finish this week to move that average up.

One & Done Pick for Phoenix: Aric Almirola will be my One & Done pick Sunday. He is off to a hot start in 2022. Almirola is the only driver in the Cup Series to finish all three races in the top six. Now he gets to compete at one of his best tracks. Almirola had a good car on the long runs. The No. 10 car was eighth-fastest on the 15-lap average speed chart. Almirola qualified fifth so he will have the track position and pit stall to run up front Sunday. I will roll the dice with Almirola and hope he can extend his top-10 streak this the week.

Ryan Blaney will be my One & Done pick and I will use him in games that reset at the end of the regular season and in games where you can use a driver more than once throughout the season. The No. 12 car is fast. Blaney was second-fastest in practice, second-fast on the 10-lap average speed chart and second fastest on the 20-lap average speed chart. Blaney starts on the pole. He should lead a lot of laps, score a lot of Stage Points and have a good chance to finish in the top-five.

Good Luck This Week!
