NASCAR One & Done Picks for Pocono

Facebooktwitter

NASCAR will have a double-header of racing this weekend at Pocono Raceway. The first Cup Series race is Saturday at 3 p.m. ET and the second race is Sunday at 3:30 p.m. (Both races on NBCSN). The picks in this article are for the Saturday race. The pick for the Sunday race will be posted no later than Sunday morning.

Ross Chastain was my One & Done pick at Nashville. Well that worked out great. Chastain had the best race of his career in the Cup Series. He started 19th and finished 2nd. It is hard to ask for more than that from the No. 42 team. Hopefully we can keep this hot streak in the One & Done game going at the Tricky Triangle.

My One & Done Pick for Pocono: Aric Almirola

I am going to “Press My Luck” at Pocono and hope for now “whammies”. Aric Almirola has been horrible this season but he is showing signs of life. He won a round of the All-Star Open and he finished 4th last week at Nashville. Now the No. 10 car will start 11th at Pocono. Almirola was one of the best drivers at Pocono last year. He finished 3rd in the first race and came back the next day and finished 5th. He also scored 28 Stage points and led the most laps in the first race. I will roll the dice with Almirola Saturday.

Denny Hamlin will be my pick for games where you can use a driver more than once. Hamlin is still looking for his first win and if Kyle Larson would just be nice and share some wins with other drivers, Hamlin could be in Victory Lane Saturday. Hamlin has finished 1st, 2nd and 1st in his last three races at the Tricky Triangle. The No. 11 car should be fast this week.

Good luck this week!
