The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will travel back to Richmond Raceway for the Federated Auto Parts 400. This will be the second race of the MENCS Playoffs. The teams will do everything to finish up front this week to prevent having to win the Roval next week in order to advance in the playoffs. The race can be Saturday night at 7:30pm ET on NBC Sports Network.

Last week was a disaster. I was saving Kevin Harvick for a track where he should have dominated. He led 80% of the laps at Las Vegas in March but I underestimated the heat in the desert. I had no idea NASCAR’s decision to put a race in the daytime at Las Vegas would totally screw up the season. I should have learned long ago to never underestimate the stupidity of NASCAR. Now, onto Richmond…
Cole Custer is in a Stewart-Haas Racing fully supported car. It is the same car Aric Almirola ran in the top 10 with in the first race at Richmond. Custer was 11th fastest in final practice and he qualified 11th. This is a good week to take a shot with him.
Good luck this week!
