NASCAR One & Done Picks for Talladega

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will compete at Talladega Superspeedway this week. That means it is time to find the diamond in the rough for our One & Done leagues. There are 36 races on the schedule and it is very difficult to find 36 good drivers for our lineups. The “Big One” usually takes out one-fourth of the field and allows some of the drivers who usually finish in the back an opportunity to finish in the top 15. We will need a bit of luck this week.

Martin Truex Jr. was my pick at Richmond. The No. 19 car looked like the class of the field but Truex was caught speeding on pit road with only 100 laps left in the race. This put Truex at the tail of the lead lap. He was able to recover for a 5th-place finish but we need a win from Truex when we use him in our One & Done lineups. Hopefully we can have better luck Sunday.

My One & Done Pick for Talladega: Corey LaJoie

Corey LaJoie will be my One & Done pick this week. He has had pretty good speed this year and his stats at Talladega are decent. LaJoie finished four of the last seven races on the Superspeedways in the top-10. His average finishing position in the current aero package on the Superspeedways is 13.8. That is eighth-best in the Cup Series. I will take a chance with LaJoie Sunday.

Good luck this week!
