There are three races left in the MENCS season and finding drivers who can finish up front in the One & Done game has become very difficult. The good news is that everyone in your league is likely dealing with the same issues as you. There is still some value picks out there if you look hard enough. It should be a good race this weekend. The AAA Texas 500 can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. Last week I decided to use Ryan Blaney. He spent most of the day running in the top 3 but ended up finishing 5th. The average finishing position for the One & Done picks is now at 13.5. Not bad but we have our work cut out for us in the final 3 races.
Here are my picks for Texas…

Wow, it is getting slim pickings for the One & Done game with 3 races left in the season. The drivers I have available to me include: John Hunter Nemechek, Corey Lajoie, Landon Cassill and Ross Chastain.
I do not have many good choices this week but I am not too worried about because most of the people playing the One & Done game are in a worse situation than me. I am using Corey LaJoie this week because he is the best choice I have left. He has had a few races where he ran well on the 1.5-mile tracks (LaJoie finished 12th at Charlotte and 22nd at Kansas). Any finish inside the top 25 would be fine with me.
* This is the first race for John Hunter Nemechek in the No. 36 car. I am going to let him get a race of experience and then use him at Phoenix or Homestead.
Good luck this week!
