NASCAR One & Done Picks for Texas

Facebooktwitter

The first round of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs are in the books and now they will travel to “No Limits” Texas to start the Round of 12. The race Sunday will be the 30th race in 2022. We have to flip rocks and look between the cushions of the couch to find drivers for our One & Done picks. The picks hit a homerun last week when we got an 8th place finish from Cole Custer. It was his best race of the season. We will need some luck to get another top-10 finish from our pick Sunday.

There are seven races left in the 2022 Cup Series season. The drivers I have left include: Alex Bowman, Harrison Burton, Todd Gilliland, Justin Haley, Noah Gragson, Ty Dillon and David Ragan.

Here is my One & Done pick for the race at Texas…

ONE & DONE PICK FOR TEXAS:  NOAH GRAGSON will be my pick for One & Done games where you can only use a driver once during the season. I thought about using Alex Bowman and Gragson at his home track in Las Vegas, but Bowman won earlier this year in Sin City and Gragson will probably be hung over after partying with his friends before the race at Las Vegas. Gragson should be a decent pick for the race at Texas. He finished 18th in the two races at Kansas and AJ Allmendinger finished 7th in the All-Star Race at Texas this year in the No. 16 car (The car Gragson will be driving Sunday). I will take my chances with Gragson this week.

ONE & DONE PICK FOR TEXAS:  ALEX BOWMAN will be my pick in the One & Done games where you can use a driver more than once. I am quickly running out of drivers to use in this game too. The choices I have left include: Tyler Reddick, Kurt Busch, Alex Bowman, Daniel Suarez, Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon, Aric Almirola, Chris Buescher, Chase Briscoe, Erik Jones, AJ Allmendinger and all of the back markers. Bowman finished 10th at Darlington and then he dominated the race at Kansas by leading 107 laps and finishing 4th. The No. 48 car posted the 3rd-fastest speed in practice. Bowman should have the speed to finish in the top-10 Sunday.

ONE & DONE PLAYOFF PICK FOR TEXAS: WILLIAM BYRON will be my pick in games where you can use any driver in the playoff races. Byron got off to a hot start in the 2022 playoffs. Byron finished 8th at Darlington, 6th at Kansas and 3rd last week at Bristol. He had the fourth-best car at Texas in the All-Star Race. The No. 24 car qualified 3rd and ran most of the race up front. Byron also finished 2nd in this race last year. Byron posted the 6th-fastest speed in practice and qualified 3rd. He will have a great chance to finish in the top-five Sunday.

Good Luck Sunday!
