There are only five races left in the MENCS regular season. The action on the track always heats up at the series heads into the month of August. Drivers who are on the playoff bubble will likely continue to play it safe and score as many Stage points and finishing points as possible. Drivers on the outside, looking in at the playoffs will likely is fuel strategy to try and steal a win. Drivers who are already locked into the playoffs have one thing on their mind… Win the race! It should be fun to see how it all plays out. The Go Bowling at the Glen can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
My goal every year in the One & Done game is to have an average finishing position of 15th or better from my drivers. Last week I took a chance with Daniel Hemric and it paid off. The No. 8 car finished 7th and brought our yearly average up to 11.3. Not bad. Denny Hamlin won the race and brought the average up to 11.8. We need to keep the momentum going at Watkins Glen.
Here are my picks for Watkins Glen…

W. Glen | Parker Kligerman | ? | W. Glen | Chase Elliott | ? |
My One & Done pick this week will be Parker Kligerman. I do not have any road course specialist to use at this track. I want to save the good drivers I have left for the more predictable tracks. Kligerman has had some success on the road courses. He finished 24th at Watkins Glen last year in the Cup Series and 6th in the Xfinity Series. He posted the 26th fastest lap in final practice with the 23rd fastest 5-lap speed. If he can simply finish in the top 25, I will be happy.
* If you have the option to use Michael McDowell this week, I would use him over Parker Kligerman.
Good luck this week!
