Slingshot Fantasy Auto Contest Picks for Bristol

The MENCS will heads back to Bristol Motor Speedway this week for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. If you like bumping and banging, sparks flying, tempers flaring, high impact racing… this is the race for you. It is the first race I ever attended and it should be on each race fan’s bucket list. The race can be seen Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

Slingshot Fantasy Auto Racing Contest awards 20 bonus points if you have the winning driver in your lineup. Track position is very important in this race because Bristol is one of the toughest tracks to pass at. I will be using Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch to chase the 20 bonus points for winning the race this week. Larson had the fastest car one the 10-lap, 15-lap, 20-lap and 30-lap average speed chart. Then he went out and won the pole. Larson has led the most laps in 2 of the last 3 races at Bristol. Busch won the last two races at Bristol and he has 21 career wins at the track. I will be shocked if one of these drivers did not win Saturday night.

Ryan Newman is very good at Bristol and he liked his car in practice. After his final run he told his team, “Do not change anything. We got what we need here.” Newman has finished 6th and 10th in his last two races at Bristol. I am not sure what happened in qualifying but I am sure Newman will move up 10-15 spots in the race this week.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has one of the fastest cars at his best track. He qualified 12th so I do expect him to move up in the race. The No. 17 team said this is their last chance to make the playoff. They will do whatever it takes to get to Victory Lane Saturday night. Stenhouse should be a great pick.

Trevor Bayne always runs well at his home track. When it was announced Matt Kenseth would drive the No. 6 car Bayne told the reporters that he wanted to make sure he could drive at Bristol. He loves this track and his car had good speed in practice.

Here are the rest of my picks for the Bristol….

Kyle Busch ($12,300) (Starts 3rd)

Kyle Larson ($11,300) (Starts Pole)

Ryan Newman ($9,400) (Starts 24th)

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ($9,200) (Starts 12th)

Trevor Bayne ($7,800) (Starts 23rd)

Good luck this week!
