The MENCS will compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday night. This will be the 2nd race in a row on a 1.5-mile track. The drivers who ran well at Kansas should be up front at Charlotte Sunday evening. The Coca-Cola 600 can be seen at 6 p.m. ET on Fox.
The No. 4 car failed pre-qualifying inspection 3 times so Kevin Harvick will start the race from the 39th spot. Since the Slingshot Fantasy Auto Racing Contest awards so many points for place differential, you must start your lineup with Harvick this week.
Slingshot Fantasy Auto Racing Contest awards 20 points to the driver who wins the race. There have only been 3 drivers to win the last 10 races on the 1.5-mile tracks (Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch) so I will take all 2 of these drivers for my team and try to capture the 20 bonus points.
Clint Bowyer was too tight in qualifying but they found some speed in the final practice. He said it felt like a completely different car. Bowyer starts 28th and should move up at least 15 spots Sunday night.
Kasey Kahne really liked his car in final practice. He said he could run the top and the bottom well. Charlotte is one of the best tracks for Kahne.
AJ Allmendinger looked awesome in the All-Star Race. I am hoping he shows up with half that speed Sunday. If he does, Allmendinger should move up from his 30th starting position.
Here are the rest of my picks for the Charlotte….
Kevin Harvick ($12,800) (Starts 39th)
Martin Truex Jr. ($12,400) (Starts 15th)
Clint Bowyer ($10,100) (Starts 28th)
Kasey Kahne($7,300) (Starts 26th)
AJ Allmendinger ($7,100) (Starts 30th)
Good luck this week!
