The MENCS will heads back to Michigan International Speedway this week for the Consumers Energy 400. The 2-mile oval at Michigan produces the fastest speeds of the season and the multiple grooves allow drivers to run high or low to make a pass. The racing has been good this year and I expect to see another fun finish this week. The race can be seen Sunday at 2:30 PM ET on NBC Sports Network.
Slingshot Fantasy Auto Racing Contest awards 20 bonus points if you have the winning driver in your lineup. This race will be a little trickier to accurately select the winner. Stewart-Haas Racing dominated the last race at Michigan and three of their cars should be up front Sunday (Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch). We can never count out Kyle Busch or Martin Truex Jr. so they need to be a considered for the win this week. Kyle Larson has won 3 of the last 5 at Michigan and it would not surprise anyone if he was in Victory Lane Sunday. Denny Hamlin also has a fast car and he usually runs well at Michigan. I am not chasing the 20 points for winning the race because there are too many drivers with a good chance to get to Victory Lane. Instead I will focus on the value picks that start deeper in the field with a good chance to score place differential points.
Here are the rest of my picks for the Michigan….
Kyle Larson ($11,400) (Starts 17th)
Chase Elliott ($11,200) (Starts 21st)
Clint Bowyer ($10,800) (Starts 16th)
Daniel Suarez ($9,700) (Starts 40th)
Kasey Kahne ($6,700) (Starts 28th)
Good luck this week!
