The MENCS will compete at Pocono Raceway Sunday afternoon. This will be the first of two trips to the Tricky Triangle this summer. The Pocono 400 can be seen at Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
Slingshot Fantasy Auto Racing Contest awards 20 points to the driver who wins the race. Three drivers (Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr.) have won 21 of the last 29 races. You will have a good chance to earn these 20 bonus points if you pick Harvick, Busch or Truex this week. I am going with Harvick as my winner and hope he can earn my team the 20 bonus points.
Brad Keselowski will be a popular pick but I pivoting from Keselowski and using Kyle Larson instead. Larson had the 2nd fastest car on long runs in final practice. He told Fox Sports that he thinks the only car better than his is the No. 4. I like Larson to move up 5-8 spots Sunday.
Erik Jones and Aric Almirola need to be on all teams this week. They start in the back and their practice times were very fast. These two drivers should earn the most points for place differential this week.
I debated AJ Allmendinger and Kasey Kahne for my final pick. Both drivers have similar stats this season and they were really close on speed in practice. I decided to go with Allmendinger since he starts a few spots further back and should earn more place differential points this week.
Here are the rest of my picks for the Pocono….
Kevin Harvick ($12,600) (Starts 2nd)
Kyle Larson ($11,200) (Starts 13th)
Erik Jones ($10,000) (Starts 25th)
Aric Almirola ($9,100) (Starts 34th)
AJ Allmendinger ($7,000) (Starts 24th)
Good luck this week!
