The MENCS will compete at Sonoma Raceway Sunday. This will be the first race on a road course this season. It is one of my favorite races of the season. The race can be seen at Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
Slingshot Fantasy Auto Racing Contest awards 2 points for every position gained in the race and there are some very good drivers (Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin) who missed their marks in qualifying. As a result these drivers will start in the middle of the pack Sunday. Bowyer, Busch and Hamlin need to be on every team this week.
AJ Allmendinger said this is the best car he has ever had at Sonoma. Actually he says that every year. He is a dangerous pick because he often drives the car until he burns out the brakes. I am betting he has learned his lesson in the previous races at Sonoma.
My cheap driver this week will be David Ragan. He was 20th fastest in first practice and 11th fastest in final practice. Ragan starts 28th and should move up 5-7 spots if he just stays out of trouble this week.
