Truck Series Fantasy Picks for Homestead

Facebooktwitter

The Truck Series will complete their Round of Eight when they race Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. That means we will know the four drivers racing for the 2023 Truck Series Championship following Saturday’s race. Corey Heim is locked into one of the spots with his win at Bristol. Brett Moffitt (non-playoff driver) won at Talladega, so that means there are three spots up for grabs this weekend. It should be fun to see how it all plays out. The Baptist 200 can be seen Saturday at 12:15 p.m. ET on FS1.

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING

Wow, I feel old. I remember the days when we were able to watch all three series practice, qualify and race on TV. That was not the case this weekend. The Truck Series practice was not on TV and it was not available for streaming. The only way to see it was to be at the track. I was not able to go to Miami, so we are picking blind this week.

The teams had 20 minutes to shake down their trucks for the race Saturday. Homestead-Miami Speedway wears out tires quickly, so we need to focus our picks on the 10-lap speed chart. You can also check out the five-lap speed chart on the nascar.com website. (Click here for the speeds: Homestead Speed Chart). The drivers who were fast on the long runs and qualified up front are the drivers who should dominate the race this weekend.

DFS STRATEGY FOR HOMESTEAD

The Truck Series race at Homestead is typically three dominator race. The main dominator leads 68 laps and scores 42 fastest laps (35.9 dominator points). The second dominator leads 48 laps and scores 22 fastest laps (21.9 dominator points). The third dominator leads 26 laps and scores 14 fastest laps (12.8 dominator points). We need to pay up for the three drivers we think can lead the most laps so we can score the 70.6 dominator points they are projected to score. That means a stars and scrubs lineup will be the best way to build tournament lineups.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Nick Sanchez, Carson Hocevar, Ty Majeski, and Corey Heim

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Trevor Bayne, Ben Rhodes, Matt Crafton, Marco Andretti, Bayley Currey, Tyler Ankrum, Jake Garcia, Tyler Hill and Nick Lietz
