Truck Series Fantasy Picks for Kansas

The Truck Series will join the Cup Series at Kansas Speedway this week. This track has a history of putting on some awesome races in the Truck Series. I know, because I have been there for most of them. The field this weekend is made up of mostly Truck Series regulars. There are no Cup Series stars in the race. Brett Moffitt makes his return to the Truck Series and he will have a pretty good truck for the race (TriCon Garage Truck). The field is pretty even, so it should be a fun race to watch and a good race to win some cash in our DraftKings Contests. The Heart of America 200 can be seen Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.

The Truckers were only allowed 20-minutes of track time to shake down their trucks for Saturday’s race. The truck races have a habit of turning into demolition derby, but the drivers tend to race cleaner on the 1.5-mile tracks. That means we will likely have more long runs Saturday night then we typically have on the short track races. We can learn a bit by looking at the single-lap speed from practice, but the drivers who were fast on the long runs are the truckers we will want in our lineups tonight. Here is the practice speed from Saturday’s practice at Kansas…

There are 134 laps in the race at Kansas (201 miles). That means there are 33.5 points available for leading laps and 60.3 points available for fastest laps (93.5 dominator points). The trend in the last three races at Kansas (when Kyle Busch is not in the field) is for one driver to lead 64 laps and score 28 fastest laps (28.6 dominator points). Another driver leads 18 laps and scores 12 fastest laps (9.9 dominator points). The typically race on a 1.5-mile track has 167 laps. The 30 less laps Saturday night takes away some of the value from the dominators. We still need to have the driver who leads the most laps in our lineup at Kansas.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Corey Heim, Ty Majewski, Rajah Caruth and Chase Purdy

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Corey Heim, Nick Sanchez, Taylor Gray, Brett Moffitt, Dean Thompson, Tanner Gray and Layne Riggs

* The Truck for NICK SANCHEZ failed inspection three times, so he was not allowed to qualify. Sanchez will start from the back and his average finishing position on 1.5-mile tracks is 5.2 and his average finishing position at Kansas is 7th. Sanchez is a must start tonight.

Good luck with your lineups!
