Truck Series Fantasy Picks for Las Vegas

Facebooktwitter

The Truck Series will join the Cup Series and the Xfinity Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway weekend. This will be the only race out west for the Truck Series, while the Cup and Xfinity Series will have two races in their “West Coast Swing.” The race should be pretty good. Kyle Busch will once again be in the race, but he will have some company tonight. Christopher Bell will get some extra seat time and Zane Smith will return for the race. It should be pretty fun to watch. The Victoria’s Voice 200 can be seen Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on FS1.

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING

Practice is back for the Truck Series and they need it. The Truckers were only allowed 20-minutes of track time to shake down the trucks for Friday night’s race. This is better than what they had (or what they didn’t have) at Atlanta. Some of the truckers were able to make some long runs in practice, so there should be some information to help us select our drivers for our lineups tonight. Here is the practice speed from Friday’s practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway…

The Truck Series lined up for qualifying after their practice session was completed. The trucks were impounded, so the speeds from practice should be the speeds we will see at the start of the race.

DFS STRATEGY FOR LAS VEGAS

The price for Kyle Busch this week is ridiculous. Is he really $3K better than Christopher Bell or $4,500 better than Zane Smith? I do not think so. Busch has finished 1st or 2nd in his last six Truck Series races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and he has averaged 67 laps led per race. He is going to be a great pick, so we cannot fade Busch completely. I will have some lineups where I stack Busch and Bell with four “value picks”. I will also play some lineups were I fade Busch and play Bell, Smith and Ty Majeski, Corey Heim or Ben Rhodes. Any of these scenarios could work out well tonight.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Kyle Busch, Ty Majewski, Zane Smith, Tyler Ankrum and Rajah Caruth

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Christopher Bell, Corey Heim, Ben Rhodes, Ty Dillon, Tanner Gray, Taylor Gray, Bayley Curey, Matt Mills and Lawless Allen

DRIVER RANKINGS FOR LAS VEGAS

* I do not have time to write about why I selected each driver for tonight’s race. I will be busy entering the information in the driver rankings model, then watching Xfinity Series practice and qualifying and then getting ready for the Truck Series race.
