Truck Series Fantasy Picks for Lucas Oil Raceway

Facebooktwitter

The Truck Series will start their run for the 2023 championship this week with a race at Lucas Oil Raceway Park. The 10 drivers competing for the championship includes Corey Heim, Zane Smith, Carson Hocevar, Christian Eckes, Grant Enfinger, Ty Majeski, Ben Rhodes, Nick Sanchez, Matt Dibenedetto and Matt Crafton. The cream usually rises to the top in the playoffs, so I expect all of these drivers to run well just outside of Indianapolis. The TSport 200 can be seen Friday at 9 pm ET on FS1.

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING

The Truck Series had a short practice session to shake down their trucks for the race Friday night. Lucas Oil Raceway is a 0.625-mile oval track, so most of the teams had plenty of time to make some long runs. We can learn a lot by looking at the 10-lap average speed chart this week.

Here are the lap times from the practice Friday at Lucas Oil Raceway…

DFS STRATEGY FOR LUCAS OIL RACEWAY

There is not a lot of data to use for this race Friday night. The truck Series drivers raced at Lucas Oil Raceway for the first time last year. Grant Enfinger won the race, followed by Ben Rhodes and Zane Smith. John H. Nemechek led the most laps (75) and Ty Majewski led the second most laps (71).

I expect the race Friday night to play out like it did last year. There should be two dominators who lead between 70-80 laps each. It will be important to pay up for these two dominators in this race.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Corey Hiem, Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes and Carson Hocevar

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points includes Ben Rhodes, Matt DiBenedetto, Matt Crafton, Stewart Friesen, Tyler Ankrum, Taylor Gray, Chase Purdy, Brett Holmes, Chris Hacker and Lawless Allen

DRIVER GROUP GAME PICKS

The Driver Group Game will once again have a contest for the Truck Series. It is easy to play. You simply select one driver from Group A, two drivers from Group B and one driver from Group C for your lineup. You can only use the drivers in Groups A & B six times throughout the season. You can only use the drivers in Group C five times throughout the season, so you have to use your allocations wisely. Here is the link to join: DGG Truck Series Game
