Updated Best Bets for Richmond

The NASCAR Cup Series is scheduled to race on the concrete at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) Sunday. The teams had 40-minutes to dial in their cars for the race, before they had to line up for group qualifying. It has not been hard to figure out which drivers had the cars to beat after practice and qualifying for the last three races (Las Vegas, Phoenix and Bristol). It would be a good idea to add some of the drivers who looked fast this weekend to our betting card at COTA.

* I have $50 left from my $100 budget. Here is how I will be spending the remaining funds on the Toyota Owners 400

DENNY HAMLIN (+650): I had to decide if I should bet on Martin Truex Jr. or Denny Hamlin. I like Truex to dominate the race, but I like Hamlin’s car to come to live in the final Stage and get Hamlin to Victory Lane at his home track. Hamlin finished 2nd, 20th (wreck), 4th, 1st, 2nd and 2nd in his last six races at Richmond. If Hamlin is not winning the race, he should be up front fighting for the win.

JOEY LOGANO (+1600): There is nothing in the way that Logano has been running this year that screams, “BET ME!!” I will trust the track history for Logano and his speed in practice. Logano has finished six of his last seven races at Richmond in the top-seven. He posted the second-fastest speed in practice with the fifth-fastest long run speed. I will be $10 on Logano and hope he hits.

ALEX BOWMAN (+1800): Bowman has great value entering the race Sunday night. The No. 48 car was the fastest on the 15, 20 and 25-lap average speed chart. Bowman clearly has the fastest car on the long runs. He is no stranger to Victory Lane at Richmond. Bowman won this race in 2021. He is entering the Toyota Owners 400 on a hot streak. Bowman finished fourth in his last two races. I will trust the practice speed and bet the driver on a hot streak at 18-1 odds.

Good luck Sunday!
