Updated Driver Group Game Picks for Phoenix

Facebooktwitter

This is one of those unique weeks when we get to see two MENCS practices before our lineups need to be set at 8 a.m. ET Saturday. The Driver Group Game announced last week that the roster set time for every race in 2020 will be 8 a.m. ET on Friday so this is one of the last races when we get to see practice before selecting our drivers. I saw a few things from the drivers that made me want to make some changes from the lineup I posted Tuesday. Here is my updated Driver Group Game lineup for the Bluegreen Vacations 500 at Phoenix…

Group A Driver Rankings: 1) Kevin Harvick, 2) Martin Truex Jr., 3) Kyle Busch, 4) Joey Logano, 5) Kyle Larson, 6) Chase Elliott 7) Brad Keselowski

* I am out of allocations with Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick

** I am switching out Martin Truex Jr. for Joey Logano. The No. 22 car needs Stage points so he will do his best to stay up front. Logano had a fast car in practice and he won this race in 2016. I think the No. 22 and No. 42 will do everything possible to stay up front Sunday.

Group B Driver Rankings: 1) Denny Hamlin, 2) Ryan Blaney, 3) Clint Bowyer, 4) Erik Jones, 5) Kurt Busch, 6) Aric Almirola, 7) Ryan Newman, 8) Daniel Suarez, 9) Austin Dillon, 10) Alex Bowman

* I am out of allocations with Ryan Blaney, Kurt Busch and Clint Bowyer

** I am switching out William Byron for Erik Jones. The No. 20 car looks exactly like Kyle Busch (with the Interstate Battery paint scheme) going around the track. Jones was fast in practice.

Group C Driver Rankings: 1) Matt DiBenedetto, 2) Chris Buescher, 3) Bubba Wallace, 4) Michael McDowell, 4) Daniel Hemric, 5) Ryan Preece

* I am out of allocations with Chris Buescher and Daniel Hemric

** I am switching out Ty Dillon for Bubba Wallace. The No. 43 car looked faster in practice.
