Updated Driver Rankings & Best Bets for Kansas

The NASCAR Cup Series will compete at their second 1.5-mile, intermediate track this weekend when they travel to Kansas Speedway. This is an important race, not only because there are 8 races this season on the 1.5-mile, intermediate tracks, but also because Kansas Speedway is one of the tracks in the playoffs. It should be fun to see which driver can take home the trophy in the Heartland Sunday. The AdventHealth 400 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on FOX.

Here are my Driver Rankings for the race for the race in Kansas

UPDATED BEST BETS

Here are the drivers I already have on my card from my Race Preview article that was posted earlier in the week….

CHRISTOPHER BELL (6-1): Bell is my pick to win at Kansas so I will add him to my card now. Bell ranks No. 1 in average green flag speed in the Gen-7 car at Kansas. His 4.5 average finishing position in the Gen-7 car at Kansas is the best in the field. His pit crew has been lights out and rank No. 1 in the Cup Series. Bell won the pole at Las Vegas and finished 4th. I still like Bell’s chances to win Sunday.

BUBBA WALLACE (25-1): Wallace won the race at Kansas in 2022 in the Gen-7 car. It was not a fluke. He led 58 laps and had the second best average finishing position in that race. Wallace also finished 5th in the last race at Kansas and he qualified 4th and finished 9th earlier this season at Las Vegas. 23XI Racing has had a lot of speed this year. 25-1 odds for a driver who has a win at this track in the Gen-7 car is too good to pass up.

ALEX BOWMAN (55-1): OK, come on now…. I know Bowman has had a rough start to the 2026 season, but 55-1 odds are ridiculous for a Hendrick Motorsports car. Bowman finished 6 of the 7 races in the Gen-7 car at Kansas Speedway in the top-10. Bowman has the 8th-highest driver ranking on the 1.5-mile intermediate tracks over the last two seasons. It may be better to bet him for a top-five finish (+650) or a top-10 (+280), but I will through a few dollars at Bowman at 55-1 odds Sunday.

The Cup Series had their practice session, the qualified for the AdventHealth 400 and the odds have been update. I will add two drivers to my card this week.

DENNY HAMLIN (5-1): I am heavily invested in Tyler Reddick in DFS, so I will get some action on the No. 11 car Sunday. Hamlin said this week on his podcast, “Kansas is my favorite track. It is the easiest track for me to get my rythm and run up front.” Hamlin has finished 1st or 2nd in half of the races in the Gen-7 car at Kansas Speedway. The No. 11 car has the speed to win Sunday.

CHRIS BUESCHER (25-1)Buescher is 25-1 odds to win Sunday? Sign me up!! Buescher came less than an inch away from winning at Kansas Speedway in the spring race in 2024. The No. 17 car posted the 6th-fastest speed in practice with the 4th-fastest long-run speed. Buescher also qualified 7th for the race. He has the speed and track position to win the AdventHealth 400 Sunday.
