We thought Daytona was going to be the race with a lot of wrecks, but the Superspeedway race was tame compared to what we have seen at Auto Club Speedway Saturday. Some of the best drivers in the sports spun out on their own in either practice or qualifying. Some of the drivers who wrecked include: Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski, William Byron, Ross Chastain, Chris Buescher, Aric Almirola and Bubba Wallace. It was crazy. The race Sunday could be a “Last Man Standing” match.
I took the data from the drivers who typically run well on the high tire-wear tracks, have a history of running well at Auto Club Speedway and looked fast in practice to calculate the Driver Rankings this week.
