Updated Fantasy NASCAR Picks for Richmond

Facebooktwitter

The MENCS cars were impounded after qualifying Friday and the series conducted a post-qualifying inspection. Cars that failed inspection lost their qualifying inspection and will start the race at the back of the field Saturday night. The No. 19 (Daniel Saurez), No. 38 (David Ragan) and No. 95 (Regan Smith) were the only two cars who failed. The No. 18 (Kyle Busch) decided to fix damage to their car from qualifying Friday. The No. 18 will go to the back of the field for unapproved adjustments but will be scored from the 11th starting spot in Fantasy NASCAR.

I decided to make some changes to my picks after the inspection was complete and the field was set for Saturday night’s race. Here are my updated picks…

SlingShot Auto Racing Contest

Joey Logano $11,100 (Starts 12th)

Chase Elliott $10,800 (Starts 18th)

Clint Bowyer $10,000 (Starts 24th)

Daniel Suarez $9,900 (Starts 38th)

William Byron $8,000 (Starts 19th)

Driver Group Game

I thought about taking out Kyle Busch as my starter since he is starting 37th. He started 32nd in April and won the race. He started outside the top 35 two other times in his career and he finished 2nd in both of those races. I have my allocations mapped out in Group A and I will be in good shape even if I use Busch tonight. I have Busch ranked as my 3rd-best driver in Group A behind 1. Kevin Harvick and 2. Martin Truex Jr.

No changes in the other groups.

Fantasy Live Playoff Game

Two of my drivers for the Fantasy Live Playoff Game were sent to the back of the field. I decided to replace Daniel Suarez with Jamie McMurray as my Non-Playoff Driver. I am going to reduce the risk with my Garage Driver too. I am replacing Kyle Busch with Brad Keselowski. The No. 2 car is on a roll and posted the fastest speed in final practice. I will take a chance with Keselowski.

Playoff Driver: Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr.

Non-Playoff Driver: Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman

Garage Driver: Brad Keselowski

Bonus Picks

Stage 1 Winner: Kevin Harvick

Stage 2 Winner: Kevin Harvick

Race Winner: Kevin Harvick

Winning Manufacturer: * Toyota

  • Toyota has a strong stable of drivers for the race tonight (Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch). I am hedging my bet and picking Toyota as the Winning Manufacturer even though I have Kevin Harvick as the race winner. I want to ensure I receive some bonus points.

Fantrax Bronze Point Salary Cap Game

I am switching Kyle Busch for Brad Keselowski in the Fantrax Salary Cap Game. It is going to be hard for the No. 18 car to lead many laps since Busch is starting from the back. Keselowski has one of the fastest cars and momentum is on his side. I will play it safe with Keselowski Saturday night.

Starting Drivers

Kevin Harvick $3540 (Starts Pole)

Martin Truex Jr. $3,410 (Starts 3rd)

Brad Keselowski $3,320 (Starts 5th)

Kurt Busch $2,420 (Starts 6th)

Clint Bowyer $1,980 (Starts 24th)

Ryan Blaney $1,470 (Starts 4th)

Erik Jones $1,410 (Starts 8th)

Aric Almirola $970 (Starts 6th)

Alex Bowman $700 (Starts 13th)

William Byron $550 (Starts 19th)
