Week 18 is a tough slate to win in DFS. We need to treat it like a preseason slate of games. We really do not know which players will get their full workload and which players will get some rest. We also do not know the motivation of each team. The Raiders looked like one of the best teams in the NFL in Week 17 vs. the San Francisco 49ers and then they looked like a team already on the golf course yesterday vs. the Chiefs.
This is a good week to wait until after the “active and inactive” report comes out and it is also a good slate to take advantage of the “late swap” if some value opens up in the late games.
I love Boston Scott on this slate “if” Miles Sanders is out or limited. I also like Elijah Mitchell “if” Christian McCaffrey is out. Ke’Shawn Vaughn is a decent play “if” Leonard Fournette is out. The Chargers will have nothing to play for if Bengals beats Ravens (I think this will happen). This will make all of the Chargers players a fade and the Broncos player’s value picks. We just need to keep our eye out for any info that may open up throughout the day.
Here are my updated lineups for Sunday…
DRAFTKINGS CASH CONTEST (SUNDAY)
The Bills have a lot to play for. It is hard to tell how the emotional week will affect their team, but I am playing JOSH ALLEN and STEFON DIGGS. The Patriots are a good defensive team, but I expect Allen and Diggs to go off Sunday…. The Seahawks are in a “must win” situation. Coach Pete Carroll loves to run the ball and I expect the Rams will get a heavy dose of KENNETH WALKER III… Is ZACH MOSS a good RB? No. But the Texans defense sticks too. Moss is a volume play Sunday. He will get enough carries to score 13+ D.K. Points… I have Diggs at WR and I will pair him with D.K. METCALK and GARRETT WILSON. I know it is risky to have two Seahawks in my Cash Contest lineups, but Walker and Metcalf can both score well Sunday (You can switch to Kenneth Walker to Cam Akers if you do not want two Seahawks in your lineup). Wilson is once again too cheap, so he gets a spot in the lineup…. Greg Dulcich is out for the Broncos so ALBERT OKWUEGBUNAM will be the man. He scored 13.5 D.K. Points last week when Dulcich went out. He should be a good pick vs. the Chargers (especially if the Chargers have nothing to play for)…. RASHID SHAHEED has been a pleasant surprise for the Saints. He has averaged 13 DK Points over the last month. All I need Shaheed to do is score 13 D.K. Points again…. I am banking on the Bengals beating the Ravens and the Chargers having nothing to play for. This will make the BRONCOS DEFENSE/ST a great play Sunday.
DRAFTKINGS TOURNAMENT CONTEST (SUNDAY)
The Panthers vs. Saints game could be a sneaky good game to stack this week. Both teams are eliminated from the playoffs, but I haven’t heard anything about either team sitting their starters. I will stack SAM DARNOLD + D.J. MOORE and run it back with CHRIS OLAVE. The Darnold to Moore Stack has averaged 45.17 DK Points over the last two weeks. I doubt anyone will play this stack. Olave has been pretty consistent this season and makes the most sense for the Saints side of the ball…. NICK CHUBB needs 200 yards to win the rushing crown and a $500K bonus. I doubt he will get it, but he scored 20 D.K. Points in his last game vs. the Steelers. I will take a chance with a lower-owned Chubb…. My second RB will be CAM AKERS. He has averaged 19.5 D.K. Points per game since taking over as the lead RB for the Rams. Akers should have a great game vs. the Seahawks 30th ranked run defense… I want a piece of the Bills’ offense so I will play GABE DAVIS. Stefon Diggs will get all of the ownership, but Davis could be the better pay vs. the Patriots defense. TYLER CONKLIN has averaged 14 DK Points in the two starts with Joe Flacco at QB. Conklin will be a great play at $3,600 if he scores 14 points Sunday… D.K. METCALF should get a lot of targets in a “must win” game for the Seahawks…. The VIKINGS DEFENSE/ST vs. QB. Nate Peterman is too good to pass up
DRAFTKINGS SNF SHOWDOWN CONTEST
* I originally had Ama-Ra St. Brown in my lineup but the Packers have hinted that CB. Jaire Alexander will cover St. Brown for most of the game (He will be double-covered when Alexander is not on him). Alexander held Justin Jefferson to 1 catch for 5 yards last week…WOW!!! I will pivot to D.J. Chark Sunday night.
