Xfinity Series Fantasy Picks for Atlanta

Facebooktwitter

The Xfinity Series will join the Truck Series in a double-header day of racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday. The trucks will race first and then the Xfinity Series race is scheduled to start at 5 pm ET on FS1. The field is pretty stacked this week, so it should be a fun day to win some cash in our DraftKings lineups.

SUPERSPEEDWAY STATS

NASCAR does not practice any more at the Superspeedways. They did this to save cost for the teams. The Xfinity Series teams will only need one car (no backup), since they will only qualify and race this weekend. This limits the data we have for the race, but we can still look at the driver’s stats on the Superspeedways to get an idea of which drivers will be good picks for our DFS lineups Saturday…

STRATEGY FOR ATLANTA

The race Saturday is scheduled for 163 laps (245 miles). That means there are 40.75 points available for leading laps and 73.35 points available for fastest laps (114.1 dominator points).

The races at Atlanta last year had the dominators points spread out between four drivers. The main dominator averaged 40 laps led and scored 3 fastest laps (11.35 dominator points). Two other drivers averaged 38 laps led and scored 2 fastest laps (10.4 dominator points) and the fourth driver averaged 24 laps led and scored 6 fastest laps (8.7 dominator points).

The best strategy last year was to focus on drivers who we thought had the best chance to finish in the top-10. It helps if they can score some place differential points on their way to the top-10, but the winning lineups all had at least five drivers who finished in the top-10 (Austin Hill, Justin Allgaier and Josh Berry were in many of the winning lineups and they started in the top-10).

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points Saturday are Austin Hill, John H. Nemechek, Sammy Smith, Cole Custer and Justin Allgaier

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Justin Haley, Justin Allgaier, Brandon Jones, Kaz Grala, Joe Graf Jr., Kyle Sieg, Jeffrey Earnhardt and Garrett Smithley
