The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series at Dover Motor Speedway this weekend. This race will be the final “Dash 4 Cash” race for the Xfinity Series. This means the Cup Series drivers are not allowed to compete in the Xfinity Series race. The four drivers competing for the $100K bonus are Jeb Burton, Shelton Creed, Parker Kligerman and Cole Custer. It will be fun to see which driver can conquer the Monster Mile and which driver can win the Dash 4 Cash. The A-Game 200 can be seen Saturday at 1:30 pm ET on FS1.
XFINITY SERIES PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The Xfinity Series was scheduled to have a 20-minute practice session, followed by qualifying Friday. Mother Nature had other plans, so once again the practice and qualifying sessions were rained out. The lineup will be set “per the rule book”, so that means Parker Kligerman is on the pole. There are a lot of good drivers starting deep in the field because the formula is based on the stats from the race at Talladega. Track position is important, so I still like the drivers who start up front too.
XFINITY SERIES STATS ON SIMILAR TRACKS
It would have been nice if we could have used the data from the race at Bristol to help predict the drivers who would run up front at Dover, but NASCAR decided to cover one of their best tracks with dirt. The data from the races at Las Vegas, Phoenix and Richmond will translate into speed at Dover. I am using that data, plus the driver rankings from the last two races at Dover to handicap the race Saturday.

STRATEGY FOR DOVER
The race Saturday is scheduled for 200 laps. That means there are 50 points available for leading laps and 90 points available for fastest laps (140 total dominator points). The trend in the Xfinity Series race at Dover is for one driver to lead roughly 68 laps and score 40 fastest laps (35 dominator points). A second driver leads 60 laps and scores 38 fastest laps (32.1 dominator points). A third driver leads roughly 50 laps and score 24 fastest laps (23.3 dominator points). We will win every contest if we are able to have the three dominators in our lineups and score the roughly 90.4 dominator points. For that reason, I will be paying up for the drivers who I think can lead the most laps Saturday.
