The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series at Richmond Raceway this weekend. The Xfinity Series will also be part of a double-header day of racing, but it will be a bit different Saturday. The Xfinity Series will race first at 1 pm ET on FS1 and the Truck Series will race second at 4:30 pm ET on FS1. The difference is that the Xfinity Series is at Richmond and the Trucks Series is in Texas. It is another good day to win some cash in our DraftKings contests.
XFINITY SERIES PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The Xfinity Series was schedule to have a short practice, followed by qualifying Saturday morning. Mother Nature did not cooperate, so the practice and qualifying was canceled. The starting lineup was set “per the rulebook” and it put Justin Allgaier on the pole. We do not have any on track data use to predict which drivers will be fast today, so I will focus on the data from the race at Phoenix and past track history at Phoenix for the picks.
XFINITY SERIES STATS ON SHORT FLAT TRACKS
STRATEGY FOR RICHMOND
The race Saturday is scheduled for 250 laps (187.5 miles). That means there are 62.5 points available for leading laps and 112.5 points available for fastest laps (175dominator points). This is a short race and track position is very important. We need to pay up for the dominators today.
The trend at Richmond is for two drivers to dominate the race. The main dominator leads roughly 130 laps and scores 27 fastest laps (44.65 dominator points). The second dominator leads roughly118 laps and scores 32 fastest laps (43.9 dominator points). We must have these two drivers in our lineups if we want any chance to win some cash today.
The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Justin Allgaier, Sammy Smith, John H. Nemechek and Chandler Smith
The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points includes John H. Nemechek, Cole Custer, Austin Hill, Parker Kligerman, Brett Moffitt, Joe Graf Jr., Alex Labbe, Stephan Parsons, Jeffrey Earnhardt
