Yahoo Fantasy Auto Racing Picks for Dover

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competes at Dover International Speedway this week. Allocations are becoming more important now that the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series has complete 12 races. I would like to save some allocations this week but the top drivers in each Group are the best choices for your team this week.

Here are my picks for the AAA 400…

Martin Truex Jr. (7): Truex has been the best driver at Dover the past two seasons and it looks like the same will be true Sunday. It is hard to sit Jimmie Johnson on the bench at a track he has 10 wins at, but Truex was fast in all practices, he qualified up front and this is his home track.

Kyle Larson (5): I am running low with my allocations with Larson. I do not want to use him unless I think he can win the race. I think he could go to Victory Lane Sunday. He starts 5th and he was very fast in all practices. Larson should have won this race last year. I expect him to finish in the top 5 this week.

Chase Elliott (7): I wish I had Kurt Busch in this spot, but since I do not… I will go with Chase Elliott. His car was a lot faster in race trim than it was in qualifying trim. Elliott finished third in both races at Dover last year. He should finish in the top 10 Sunday.

Erik Jones (6): I really wanted to use Regan Smith and save an allocation with Jones. I cannot do it. Smith qualified 30th and Jones starts 7th. I am confident that Jones can keep the car in the top 10. He won the Xfinity Series race at Dover last year and he beat out Kyle Busch.

Smith is not running as well as Aric Almirola in the No. 43 car. I am not going to start Smith just to save an allocation. Michael McDowell is running just as well as Smith so I have no problem using McDowell at the end of the season.

* I would start Daniel Suarez if I had him.

* If you need to know which driver I like more this week, simply look at my driver rankings.

Good luck this week!
