Yahoo Fantasy Auto Racing Picks for Michigan

Facebooktwitter

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competes at Pocono Raceway this week. Allocations are becoming more important now that the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series has complete 14 races. I did not hold back on my picks this week because this is a good track for the top drivers. I plan to take a break from using these drivers until the end of the summer.

Here are my picks for the FireKeepers Casino 400…

GROUP A

Martin Truex Jr. (6): Truex will start from the 2nd position for the third straight week. He led 54 laps and finished 3rd at Dover and led 39 laps and finished 6th at Pocono. Unless they have a mechanical problem the No. 78 car should lead laps and finish in the top five Sunday. Whenever you are almost guaranteed top five points from Truex you have to use him.

My other choice was Brad Keselowski. The No. 2 car was the fastest in Happy Hour Practice but I trust the No. 78 team more.

GROUP B

Kyle Larson (4): Larson said after qualifying that he has waiting for a year to come back to Michigan. He said this is by far his best track and you can tell. Larson won the pole and looked very fast in practice. This race has been won from the pole in 4/7 races. I think it happens again. If you have Larson on your team you have to use an allocation with him. He is the best driver at his best track. I will not get much better.

Ryan Blaney (6): I really planned on using Chase Elliott in this spot but the No. 24 car still seems to be missing something. Blaney continues to be fast so I will play the hot hand. Blaney starts 6th and had the 11th fastest speed in Final Practice. The No. 21 car has a good long run car too. Blaney was 5th fastest on the 10-lap average speed chart.

GROUP C

Erik Jones (4): Since Ty Dillon will start from the back I decided to use an allocation with Jones. He is a Michigan native and he will have a lot of family and friend in the stands. Jones will have a similar car with similar speed as the No. 78 car. Jones was very happy with his car in practice.  I expect him to finish in the top 10 this week.

Good luck this week!
