The Truck Series returns after nearly a month off for some Thursday Night Thunder in the Valley. This will be the first race in the playoffs for the Truck Series. They last competed at Bristol Motor Speedway in April. Christian Eckes led 132 of the 250 laps, but it was Christopher Bell who went to Victory Lane. We do not need to worry about a Cup Series star stealing the trophy tonight. It should be fun to see these Truck Series regulars battle it out in Thunder Valley. The UNOH 200 can be seen Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.
DRIVER STATS FOR BRISTOL
The best way to handicap the UNOH 200 is to look at what happened at Bristol in April. I will use the stats from the last three races at Bristol and the stats from the race at Dover Motor Speedway to help predict which drivers will run up front Thursday night.
Here are the stats from the last three races at Bristol Motor Speedway and the race at Dover Motor Speedway this year, sorted by DraftKings Points….

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The Truck Series had a 50 minute practice session to dial in their trucks for tonight’s race and then the teams lined up for single-lap qualifying. There was a lightning strike in the area and qualifying was canceled with only eight trucks left to run. The starting lineup was set per the rule book. I will be focusing the picks on the drivers who posted a fast 10-lap average and qualified up front. The drivers who check these boxes will be the best for our DraftKings lineups tonight.
Here are the practice speeds from the final practice session at Bristol Motor Speedway….

DRIVER RANKINGS FOR BRISTOL

DFS STRATEGY FOR BRISTOL
The race tonight is scheduled for 250 laps (133 miles). That means there are 62.5 points available for leading laps and 112.5 points available for fastest laps (175 dominator points available in the race). That is a lot of laps for a Truck Series race. The playoff races at Bristol Motor Speedway (the races without Cup Series drivers) typically have two dominators. Each of these dominators lead over 100 laps each. We will not win our contest without these two dominators in our lineups. I plan to pay up for the two drivers who I expect to lead the most laps, even if it means playing a “stars and scrubs” lineup.
