It’s Bristol Baby and the guy who coined that phrase is going to be in the field this week. The Xfinity Series will complete their regular season with a “last chance” race at Bristol Motor Speedway. If having the drivers compete for the final playoffs spots is not enough to get you interested, how about we add in the return of Dale Earnhardt Jr. to his favorite track. It should be a fun night of racing under the lights in Thunder Valley. The Food City 300 can be tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on CW Channel.
PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING AT BRISTOL
The Xfinity Series had a short practice session Friday to shake down their cars for the race tonight. Bristol is a .533-mile, high-banked, concrete track. It only takes 16 seconds to make a lap on this bull-ring, so most of the teams were able to make some long runs in practice. We can learn a lot by looking at the long-run speed from today’s practice session. Track position is also important, because the back of the field can go a lap down quickly at Bristol. We will want the drivers who qualified up front and have good long-run speed in our lineups at Bristol.
Here are the lap times from the practice Friday at the Bristol…

STATS TO USE FOR BRISTOL
Bristol is a unique track. There are other high-banked, concrete tracks on the schedule (Dover), but they do not race like Bristol. I am focusing my picks on the drivers who have a history of running well at Bristol.
Here is the driver’s average DraftKings Points in the last two races at Bristol…

STRATEGY FOR BRISTOL
The race tonight is scheduled for 300 laps. That means there are 75 points available for leading laps and 135 points available for fastest laps (210 dominator points). The last two races at Bristol have been two-dominator races. Each dominator leads 110 laps and one scores roughly 62 fastest laps (55.4 dominator points) and the other driver scores roughly 34 fastest laps (42.8 dominator points). We must have these two drivers in our lineups, because we will not win any cash if we do not score the 98 dominator points that they are projected to score. Justin Allgaier has averaged 148 laps led in his last seven races at Bristol. He is almost a lock to be one of the dominators tonight.
The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Justin Allgaier, Cole Custer, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Chandler Smith
The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points Dale Earnhardt Jr., Ryan Truex, Sheldon Creed, Riley Herbst, Joe Graff Jr., Matt DiBenedetto, Sam Mayer, Parker Retzlaff, Shane van Gisbergen, Josh Williams and Kyle Sieg
