DFS Xfinity Series Picks for Charlotte

Facebooktwitter

The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series at the Charlotte Roval this weekend for another road course race. This will be the sixth road course race for the Xfinity Series so the teams should have plenty of notes to bring a decent setup to the track Saturday. Shane van Gisbergen has won three of the five road course races (Portland, Sonoma and Chicago). Will the driver from New Zealand win again or will another driver find his way to Victory Lane? It will be fun to see how it all plays out. The Drive for the Cure 250 can be seen Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on CW Channel.

PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING AT CHARLOTTE

NASCAR took a week off from practicing last week because the Xfinity Series was racing at a Superspeedway track. The teams were given a 50-minute practice session Saturday to shake down their cars for the Drive for the Cure 250. Most of the cars were able to make some five-lap runs and then bring in the car for some adjustments. The drivers who were fast in practice and qualified up front are the drivers we will want in our lineups today.

Here are the lap times from the practice Saturday at the Charlotte Roval…

STATS TO USE FOR CHARLOTTE

The Charlotte Roval is different from the other road course tracks because they drivers compete on the high banks of the traditional track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The best way to predict who will finish up front today is to look at the driver’s stats from the previous races on the Charlotte Roval. Some of the drivers do not have any history at this track, or it is only one race. We may have to rely on the stats from the five road course races this year for our picks today

Here is the driver’s average DraftKings Points in the last two races at the Charlotte Roval and the for five road course races in 2024…

STRATEGY FOR CHARLOTTE

The race today is scheduled for 67 laps. That means there are 46.9 dominator points up for grabs. That is not enough dominator points to chase this weekend. We need to fit as many drivers as possible who have a good chance to finish in the top-10 today.

DraftKings did not price Shane van Gisbergen or AJ Allmendinger high enough this week. They are by far the two best road course drivers in the field and everyone knows it. I expect SVG and Allmendinger to have a lot of ownership. I will be fading these two drivers in some (not all) of my tournament contests lineups and going with a more balanced lineup.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Shane van Gisbergen, AJ Allmendinger and Sam Mayer

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points Aric Almirola, Parker Kligerman, Sammy Smith, Alex Labbe, Ryan Sieg, Jeb Burton, Sage Karam and Ryan Ellis
