The Xfinity Series will join the Truck Series in a double-header day of racing at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Road Course racing is nothing new for the Xfinity Series. They have six road course races on their schedule this year and that has been common for “The Series Where Names Are Made”. We have a lot of data to use to build some winning DFS lineups for the race at COTA. The Focused Health 250 can be seen Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on FS1.
PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING AT COTA
The Xfinity Series had their normal schedule this week. The teams had a 20-minute practice session to shake down their cars for Saturday’s race. COTA is a 3.41-mile track so there was not enough time for the drivers to make any long runs in practice. We can still use the information from the single-lap speed chart and the drivers qualifying position for our picks Saturday.

DRAFTKINGS POINTS ON ROAD COURSES (2023)
There have been three races for the Xfinity Series at COTA, but many of the drivers did not compete in all three races. In order to handicap this race, I like to look at the drivers stats from the eight road course races for the Xfinity Series races in 2023. This should give us an idea of which drivers are good at navigating the road courses.

STRATEGY FOR COTA
There are 46 laps in the race at COTA (156.8 miles). That means there are only 11.5 points available for leading laps and 20.7 points available for fastest laps (32.2 dominator points). The trend in the three road course races at COTA is for one driver to lead 26 laps and score 14 fastest laps (12.8 dominator points). Another driver leads 18 laps and scores 10 fastest laps (9 dominator points). That is not enough dominator points to chase this week. We need to focus our picks on finishing position points this week. We will cash all of our lineups if we can get all six drivers to finish inside the top-12 and score some place differential points on the way.
