Fantasy NASCAR Preview for New Hampshire

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will join the Xfinity Series at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway this week. This will be the second race in a row where the Cup Series will race at a short, flat track. The teams should have plenty of data to unload with some fast setups this weekend. It will be fun to see if any driver can beat Martin Truex Jr. in his last race at one of his many home tracks.

NEW HAMPSHIRE SCHEDULE

The Cup Series and Xfinity Series will be back to their regular schedule this week. It was nice to see the teams get 50-minute practice sessions at Sonoma and Iowa, but that will not be the case this week in New Hampshire. Both series will have their 20-minute minute practice sessions to shake down their cars before they line up for qualifying. The Xfinity Series will race Saturday afternoon at the Magic Mile and the Cup Series will race on Sunday.

Here is the schedule for the races at New Hampshire…

RACE RECAP AT NEW HAMPSHIRE

The race at New Hampshire last year was postponed until Monday. Of course it was “Monday Martin” who dominated the race. Martin Truex Jr. qualified second, led 254 of the 301 laps, won both Stages and went to Victory Lane. Truex dominated both races in the Gen-7 car at New Hampshire. He also led 172 laps, won both Stages and finished fourth in 2022. The only driver who had a chance to keep up with Truex was Joey Logano. Other drivers who looked good in the race were Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick and Christopher Bell.

Stage 1 Results: 1. Martin Truex Jr., 2. William Byron, 3. Tyler Reddick, 4. Aric Almirola, 5. Ryan Blaney, 6. Christopher Bell, 7. Denny Hamlin, 8. Daniel Suarez, 9. Joey Logano, 10. Michael McDowell

Stage 2 Results: 1. Martin Truex Jr., 2. Kyle Larson, 3. Joey Logano, 4. Ryan Blaney, 5. Denny Hamlin, 6. Kevin Harvick, 7. Alex Bowman, 8. Brad Keselowski, 9. Tyler Reddick, 10. Christopher Bell

FANTASY STATS FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE

It seems like the Cup Series is racing on a short, flat track every other week. That is good news for the fantasy picks this week. We have plenty of data to work with to figure out which drivers should finish up front at New Hampshire.

I will used the data from the two previous races at New Hampshire and combine it with the stats from the races at Phoenix, Richmond, North Wilksboro, Gateway and Iowa this year to help handicap this race. The drivers who have run the best in those races, so have a good chance to have a good race at the Magic Mile.

Here are the stats from the last two races at New Hampshire in the Gen-7 car and the races at Phoenix, Richmond, North Wilksboro, Gateway and Iowa earlier this year, sorted by Driver Rating…
