The Cup Series will race through the streets of Chicago Sunday. The Grant Park 220 will be the first race on a street course for the NASCAR Cup Series. Hopefully the One & Done pick can perform this week as well as they did in Nashville last week. Ross Chastain was the pick in two of the leagues and he went to Victory Lane. Martin Truex Jr. was the pick in the other league, and he finished second. I will do my best to build on this momentum during the summer and in through the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
ONE & DONE CONTESTS

This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.
SHANE VAN GISBERGEN will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once. I mapped out my picks for the rest of the season, using my remaining drivers at their best tracks. I came up one race short with the Cup Series regulars. That means I MUST use one of the street course ringers this week. My choices are Jenson Button, Shane van Gisbergen and Andy Lally. Van Gisbergen will be driving the No. 91 car for Trackhouse Racing. Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez have had a lot of road course success in the Trackhouse Racing Chevy. They do not have half the experience that Van Gisbergen has on the road courses. Van Gisbergen tested his Gen-7 car on the Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier this month. He posted the fastest speed in practice, so I will take a chance with the Kiwi (He is from New Zealand) Sunday night.
ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)

This pick is for games where you are allowed to use a driver once in the regular season (the first 26 races) and then you can use them again in the playoffs, if your team advances in the playoffs. We only need 26 drivers in these games so we can be a bit more aggressive with our picks. Here are my picks for games that reset at the end of the regular season…
TYLER REDDICK will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once in the regular season and then the picks reset for the playoffs. Reddick destroyed the field at COTA earlier this season when he led 41 of the 75 laps and went to Victory Lane. The No. 45 car looks fast again this weekend. Reddick posted the eighth-fastest speed in practice and qualified second for the race. Reddick is going to be tough to beat Sunday evening.
ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)

I play in a game where I can use a driver three times throughout the season. I know some of you have told me you can use your drivers twice. We will only need 18 drivers in these games, so we do not need to dig too deep with our picks. Here is my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once….
MICHAEL MCDOWELL will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once. McDowell said that his team has had this race circled on the calendar ever since it was released that the Cup Series would be racing through the streets of Chicago. McDowell has a lot of talent on the road courses and his team knows this is one of their best chances to win a race in 2023. McDowell posted the 15th-fastest speed in practice and qualified sixth for the Grant Park 220. McDowell should have a great chance to finish in the top-10, with the upside to win the race Sunday evening.
Good luck Sunday!
