The Cup Series is ready to go road course racing for the second time in 2023. The teams had a 20-minute practice session Saturday to shake down their cars. That is not enough time on a 2.52-mile road course to make any long runs, but at least they were able to make sure everything worked properly. Sonoma Raceway is a tough track on the heavy Gen-7 cars. The teams then lined up for group qualifying and now the field is set for Sunday’s race.
