The Xfinity Series will join the Truck Series and Cup Series at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend. The Xfinity Series had a much needed week off, after back-to-back races on the west coast. There are 12 races left in the regular season for the Xfinity Series, so the teams still have some time to secure a spot in the playoffs. The racing in “The Series Where Names Are Made” has been pretty good this season. I expect the same at Nashville. The Tennessee Lottery 250 can be seen Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on USA.
XFINITY SERIES PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The Xfinity Series had 55-minutes to dial in their cars for today’s race. The teams usually do not get this much practice time and we typically do not get this much data for the race. The practice was Friday afternoon and the race today is Saturday afternoon. The track conditions should be similar today, so the practice speeds should translate into race speed at Nashville.
Here are the practice speeds for the Tennessee Lottery 250 at Nashville…
XFINITY SERIES STATS ON INTERMEDIATE TRACKS
The Xfinity Series has competed on four intermediate tracks this year (Las Vegas, Dover, Darlington and Charlotte). The drivers who were fast in those races, should be fast Saturday afternoon. Here is the driver’s average DraftKings Points on the intermediate tracks this year, combined with the stats from the two races at Nashville for the Xfinity Series.
STRATEGY FOR NASHVILLE
The race Saturday is scheduled for 188 laps (250 miles). That means there are only 47 points available for leading laps and 84.6 points available for fastest laps (131 total dominator points). We need as many of these dominator points as possible at Nashville.
The trend in the two races at Nashville had one driver lead 130 laps and score 80 fastest laps (68.5 dominator points). A second driver leads roughly 50 laps and scores 12 fastest laps (17.9 dominator points). We will win most of our DraftKings contests if we can simply have these two dominators into our lineups and score the 86.4 dominator points they are likely to score. My strategy this week will be to pay up for the top dominators for today’s race.
The drivers with the best chance to be the top dominators include Cole Custer, Ty Gibbs, Chandler Smith, AJ Allmendinger, Justin Allgaier
The drivers who start in the back with the best chance to score place differential points include John H. Nemechek, Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry, Sam Mayer, Daniel Hemric, Sheldon Creed, Brandon Jones, Brett Moffitt, Connor Mosak, Kyle Weatherman
